The positive aspects of Technology are becoming more important and helping us to keep in touch. Here’s some help – we all it need it at times. 😊
TechMates
A team of TechMate volunteers are being trained by Wigan Council to support the community to learn essential digital skills, helping to reduce digital exclusion and social isolation. You can volunteer to help . . . here. You need just a little confidence with IT and an hour or so a week to help others.
TechMate help drop-in sessions.
Wigan Council website has information about sessions across the Borough. Here in Shevington we have regular Friday morning TechMate help alongside the Coffee morning at Shevington Methodist Church. In Standish there is a digital drop-in at ‘Fifteens’ on the third Thursday morning of each month.
Shevington Digital Classes – ‘Computers for the Terrified’ and ‘Moving On’
Whilst the time isn’t yet quite right to get these really popular classes up and running again, they will be back! The volunteers who organise these classes will let you know as soon as they can.
